Well just a little blogging done this weekend, since I will have some time:
Friday
Well Friday was sorta a blur, it started off a really bad day because we had our first every paper quiz (over a paper we read) and I forgot my badge, i need that in order to park on campus and get into my labs. So i remembered about 1/2 way to school, so i decided to turn around and get it and then got stuck in an elementary school drop off zone. So i decided it wasn’t worth it and would just park in visitor parking. I parked there, paid $5, then walked almost all the way across campus and got to my seat, huffing and puffing, just as the prof handed me a quiz. So it turned out ok, just not that I wanted haha. The rest of the day was just a blur, some football, and a trip to the store. The most memorable thing was staying up and seeing this fool punch this dude and end his football career because he is suspended his entire senior year, he was a pretty good RB also…:
Youtube video was removed sry…
Saturday
This was such a great day! I have been waiting for football for so long, and its finally here! My Bears won, and started their bowl berth off on a great game! SIC’EM BEARS!! So i watched maybe 5-6 games on Saturday and enjoyed it so much…thats about all I can say…except i love college football!
Sunday
This day was AMAZING! It is such a contrast (and much needed) to Saturday. My friend Lindsey invited me up to Estes Park, where her family was camping all weekend. So i drove the short 1.45 hrs to get there and enjoyed it sooooo much. When i got there we went to actual town and sat and read/talked at a tiny coffee shop. Then before lunch we went on a short hike to some lake in the middle of the mountains…it was stunning. These are the reasons that I love CO.
Here is me in front of the lake/mountains. To me it almost looks like a fake backdrop…but it isn’t!
Here the Aspens are already starting to change color. Can you just imagine a full mountain full of these yellow wonders?
Just another cool pic of the mountains.
So we then went back and had lunch, had a devotional time, and lazied around the campsite talking. During devotional time Lindsey’s mom prepared some verses related to being young, they were all really good, but one of them stuck out to me that I’ve never given too much thought about. It just reminds me how lucky I am to grow up with Christ and what great blessing my parents were that I could go through trials/temptations and learn to be self-disciplined when I am young and more pliable than I am now or even at further years. The Lord has blessed me in many ways that He is reminding me daily:
It is good for a man to bear the yoke while he is young ~Lamentations 3:27
Then we went back to Estes Park and walked around the town. Of course, when we were as far away from the car it starts raining haha. My typical luck. But we made it to the car without getting tooo wet. Then had a wondering dinner consisting of grilled shrimp, salad, the sweetest corn I’ve ever had, and some grilled veggies. Yummy! They really taught me how to “camp in style”
We saw some elk in a field at dusk. (Tried to get pictures but coulnd’t get close enough). Saw a sorta sunset and had am amazing super warm camp fire.
The smores were amazing, and there was a consensus that when they refer to “mana from heaven” in the Bible…they were really talking about smores! You better believe it! haha. So i stayed and talked/sat around the campfire until about 9:30ish then started the long drive back home. I think it was a pretty amazing day! And def needed after all the TV of Saturday.
Monday
Well today has just started, I got to sleep in and so far I have just written what you have just read. I do have a quiz tomorrow so I will start studying for that later. But hope that your long weekend was great and that you got some great rest and relaxation in!
